Day 2 |
Guwahati-Kaziranga
Meals: dinner and tea.
Fly to Guwahati in the morning. Transfer to Kaziranga National Park (4½
hr). Evening entertainment: tribal or Bihu dance (subject to availability) by log
fire under bamboo grove along with dinner. Overnight at Wildlife Resort.

Day 3 |
Kaziranga National Park
Meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner and tea.
Kaziranga: (i.e day after arrival) Elephant ride 1 hour at 6.30 am. Back to lodge by 8 am. Post breakfast proceed to the Western Range of the Park 25 min ride to the entrance. The route traverses the southwest portion of the park. This range has maximum short grass areas and is the best habitat for Rhinos and Water Buffalos. Representative perennial ox-bow lakes surrounded by marshy (Haemarthia compressa) stands. Part of the drive is through Low Alluvial Savannah Woodlands. Colonization of grassland by Lagerstroemia parviflora can be seen. A round of the entire circuit is around 20 km. High herbivore density in wetlands are characteristic of the habitat. At 2 pm drive to Kaziranga Range which covers central region of the park. It is an ideal introduction to the park and its ecology as the route intersects entire spectrum of habitat types prevalent in the park. Sighting elephants as well as the other mammals is possible here. Habitat of Swamp Deer. Birding in a wide range of habitats. Good sunset pictures. Takes 15 minutes to reach the entry point. Entire circuit approximately 35 km.

Day 4/5 |
Kaziranga National Park
Meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner and tea.
Early morning visit to the Panbari forests. Walk along with an armed forest guard. Panbari forests are contiguous with Dolamara RF and proposed Sanctuaries East Karbi Anglong, North Karbi Anglong in the hills. Panbari is semi-evergreen forest type situated in an alluvial plains and highland. It is separated from Kaziranga by paddy fields and village lands but nevertheless represents Kaziranga eco-system and forms refuge for wild animals during floods. It is a corridor for Asian elephants who inhabit Kaziranga's grassland. Ideal for birding especially for forest birds and Hollock Gibbons - the only ape found in India.
Arrive for late breakfast or early lunch and at two pm drive to the Eastern Agaratuli Range for birding. Find nesting of endangered Pallas's Fishing Eagles and Spot-billed Pelicans. Migrant waterfowls are seen at Sohola Beel. Great birding here the list is never ending. AT Sohola Beel discover Dillenia Swamp Forest. Wild elephants, water buffalo and swamp deer can be seen here. Takes 40 minutes to reach. Tourist route approximately 26 km.

Day 6 |
Kaziranga-Guwahati-Calcutta
Meals: breakfast
Drive to Guwahati take connecting flight to Kolkutta. Arrive at Kolutta by evening. Overnight stay at Hotel Landmark or similar.

Day 7 |
Calcutta-Sunderbans National Park
Meals: lunch, dinner and tea.
Escorted and transferred by to the jetty at Sonakhali. The 2½ hr route goes through lush-green rural
Bengali landscape, dotted with picturesque villages and quaint markets.
Cruise by a personal boat down the
rivers Hogol, Gomor, Durgaduani, Bidya and Gumdi. Our resident naturalist discloses mystery of the
Sunderbans over hot tea or coffe. You see six different types of
Kingfishers! Spend couple of pleasant hours boating then arrive at Sunderbans
Jungle Camp on Bali Island. Delightful lunch and
short rest in the well-furnished cottage then leave for to
Sajnekhali Mangrove Interpretation Center and back via the
Sudhyanakhali watchtower. Have dinner on board or at the
resort.

Day 8/9 |
Sunderbans National Park
Meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner and tea.
Full day cruise. Leave post breakfast and head towards the canopied walk at Dobanki. Then proceed to the furthest
point-Netidhopani to visit age-old excavations and see wild animals from
the watch tower. Luck will fetch swimming tigers of tha park. Keep a sharp watch for Estuarine Crocodiles basking on shores and the
elusive Irrawady Dolphins. Lunch on board and back late
evening after watching the spectacular sunset. In the evening entertainment the local village troupe enact the opera based on the myth of the Goddess
Bonobibi.

Sunderbans National Park-Calcutta - Delhi
Meals: breakfast, lunch and tea.
Tour island village of Bali meet local resident conducting their everyday chores-fishing, weaving and boat-making. A short cruise in country boats along the narrow canals completes the Sunderbans safari. Post lunch transfer to Kolkata for connecting flight to Delhi. Arrive Delhi in evening.
Overnight stay at the hotel.
