A nine day wild lion safari at Gir National Park, Velavadar National Park for Black bucks & Little Rann of Kutch a exciting Wildlife and Ass Sanctuary. The Gir ecosystem is dry deciduous forests and hilly scrub land. Other wild animals - leopard, deer, jackal, hyena, and marsh crocodile.
Velavadar: Is grassland ecosystem habitat of caracal, black buck, Nilgai Indian wolf and the lesser florican.
Little Rann of Kutch the desert and the Wild Ass Sanctuary: Find exciting birds and animals. Home to Wild Ass and nearly 350 species of birds.
Day 1
Land at Ahmedabad Airport meet our staff. Breakfast at Cama Park Plaza one of the oldest and finest hotel in Ahmedabad.
We stroll around the streets of walled city of Ahmedabad and experience the chaos as cars, taxis, autos all struggle get past each other in the narrow by lanes. The modern part of the city has little to offer except shopping and food. There are some monuments of historical significance which we will visit before returning back to our hotel. .
Day 2
Velavadar National Park. We leave early morning to the park which is about 140 km from Ahmedadad. The park is a grassland ecosystem with dense and sparse grasses besides shrub. It is home to the black buck which is an antelope and Indian wolf which is critically endangered. Lesser florican and other bustard species all rare birds are also found here besides many other bird species. We will stay for the night at Bhavnagar City which is about 72 km from here. .
Day 3
We drive for five hours to Gir National Park which is 200km from Bhavnagar. This is the last strong hold of the Asiatic Lion in the World. We will check into a luxury resort and after lunch leave for the lion safari at Gir. The forest are dry deciduous type with lot of scrub and bamboo. The evening safari yields many wild animals besides a pride of lion. The park is home to exciting bird species besides many mammals and a number of small cat species. We enjoy all that this park has to offer and the return to our resort. .
Day 4/5
Gir National Park. We are always on the lookout for the Indian Lion and the elusive leopard. Other animals we come across are the sloth bear, hyena, spotted deer, and many small cat species. The jungle cat is common the the rusty spotted cat and desert cats are a rare sight. Nilgai, chinkara and the four horned deer are seen on the safari the former two are an antelope species. The unique bird of Western India can be seen here during the drives this makes Gir and interesting place for bird watchers. We take two safaris in the park and return back to our resort on the periphery. .
Day 6
We drive for 200 km to reach Zainabad in Little Rann of Kutch in NW Gujarat. The destination is Wild Ass Sanctuary home to rare wild ass species. This is a saline desert with scrub and patches of grass known as "bets". We will drive on an open jeep looking for the wild ass and the Nilgai antelope found in wild abundance here. The other animals we come across are the Indian Wolf, Indian Gazelle, Jackal, Desert Fox and the Striped Hyena. After the wild safari we return back to our camp at Zainabad.

Day 7/8
Little Rann of Kutch. The region is a flat bed of hundred of km with marshes in between. It has a large slat panning industry which is a threat to the ecosystem. Nevertheless the habitat is one of the best birding destination in the Western India. Many species of rare birds like MacQueens Bustard, Great Indian Bustard, Cranes and Flamingos are found here. All the time on safaris we will keep a look put for the birds will be rewarded by great sightings. This is the land of raptors and we will see many on the skies and the trees. .
Day 9
This day we drive from Zainabad to Ahmedabad the Capital City of Gujarat. The tour ends here and we drop you at the airport for a flight back home. Goodbye. .
