Taxi to Thattekad go for an evening Bird trip and at overnight at a lovely lodge.

Day 3/4 |
Thattekkad: - Dr Salem Ali Bird Sanctuary
Reach Thattekkad at early. Thattekkad in Western Ghat is a birder’s paradise in Southern India. Around two hundred seventy plus species are found in a small area of twenty five square kilometers. At night search nocturnal birds Nightjar, Frogmouth & variety of Owls. Chief attractions are Flycatchers, Brown breasted flycatchers, Blue-tailed Flycatchers and Rusty-tailed Flycatchers. Also look for Grey headed Bulbuls and Wynad Laughing Thrushes in th bushes. Find Spot bellied owls, the Ceylon Frogmouths, Spurfowls, Bay Owl, Babblers and Blue-faced Malkoha. Here many endemic spieces can be sighted.
Next morning visit Orullathany situated at the other end of the sanctuary for more birding. Move next to Edamalayar Power Plant site near the river for the eagles, kites, owls, variety of woodpeckers and Yellow-billed Babbler and more. Other interesting avifauna is less seen Blue-bearded Bee-eaters, Malabar Grey Hornbill, White-bellied Woodpeckers, the Heart-spotted Woodpecker, White-bellied Treepies and Black throated Munia. Stay for night at the Hornbill Camp.

Day 5/6 |
Munnar. Reach afternoon
Munnar is a popular hill station at height of 1450m. In forests and grassland - home of rare Nilgiri Tahr - find Nilgiri Wood Pigeons, Grey breasted Laughing Thrushes, Nilgiri Flycatcher and Black and Rufous Flycatchers, White bellied Shortwings, Nilgiri Pipit and Painted Bush Quail. There are evergreen forests referred to as "Shola" on each sides of the plateau of Nilgiri Hills in Rajamalai about eight kilometer from Munnar and part of the Eravikulam National Park. Munnar has old tea gardens which accords diversity of habitats resulting in unique avifauna. Stay at Olive Brooke Resort for the night.

Day 7/8 |
Ooty
En-route to Ooty we stop at Chinnar about sixty kms from Munnar a thorny scrub forest in the rain shadow region of the Western Ghats. The birds seen are Rain -Quail, Blue breasted quails, Large Grey Babblers, White bellied and White naped Woodpeckers, Lesser Whitethroats and Jerdons Baza, White-rumped Shama, Speckled Piculet, Black Baza, red billed Sirkeer Malkoha, Scops Owl, Eurasian Eagle Owl, Streak throated Swallows and Grey breasted Laughing Thrushes.
On reaching Ooty at evening we will go for bird trip at the Cairn hill shoal, Kallatti Ghat on way to Masinagudi. Stay at Regency Villas for the night

Drive to Cochin, day free or have local sight seeing overnight hotel on B&B.

Transfer to international airport.
