Darjeeling
Situated in West Bengal this little high altitude hill station is better known for its tea gardens than scenic beauty and trekking grounds. Darjeeling district offers the best views of Khangchendonzga and the Himalayan range from Tiger Hill at 2590 m.
Darjeeling is a cultural assemblage of Bengali, Tibetan. Sikkimese, Lepchas, Bhutias and Gorkhas from Nepal. There are many places of tourist interest and trekking in the hills. Nearest airport in 90 kilometers away at Bagdogra. Darjeeling is reachable from Calcutta by road transport as well.
